There is no issue with creating 450 VM's under one protection group it is definitely supported. But not advisable, the reason being. If one datastore is effected it impacts the entire recovery for that protection group. I would say create a group of 3 PG's based on their dependencies like APP/DB and that should work out as expected.

If you ask me it actually does not serve the purpose of including SRM & vCenter under SRM Protection group.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
you can check the last step (Step 8) in the doc - How to Set Up a Trusted Environment for the Site Recovery Manager Virtual Appliance
Probably this will resolve your issue.
Hope this help,

Im testing SRM evaluation version at the moment Im using replication appliance for replication and SRM on windows
I would like add storage replication adaptors for array based replication but I don't have such option, -
I would like to know if on full licence I will be able to add new SRA and this version this will be possible if have storage from different vendors ( I have already drivers for both adaptors from EMC and HP)
I have following storage
on site A- EMC Unity and HP mse 5052 storage on site B

Hello,
Array based replication is not possible between two different storage vendors. Because SRA can only be installed and paired of similar version and storage model between sites.
You can use vSphere replication as they are independent of the storage that you use.

Hope this helps.
Hello Gautham,
Remove the extension from vCenter Mob. That should ideally take care of it.
Regards
Ritesh.
VCenter has failed and was replaced with a new instance of vcenter, but when I try to remove the old one from SRM 8.2 appliance, breaking site pair fails. Assumption is it can’t connect to the removed vCenter(PSC). Any suggestion how to clean it up?
Since you have replaced your vCenter server completely,You cannot make use of the same SRM database anymore. You need to re-initiate SRM on both the sites with new database.
SRM identifies the vCenter via UUID and not hostname. So if the vCenter is replaced I believe you cannot make use of the existing SRM configuration anymore.
Hope this helps.

Hello All,
I installed a pair of SRM 8.1.1 servers associated with respective vCenter servers (6.7U1) in Protected and Recovery Sites. Create a new pair operation was successful as well. Protection Groups and Recovery Plans were created seamlessly.
After one day I started getting the following SRM errors:
srmxxx SRM Server cannot connect to VC Server at vcyyy:443/sdk'. Permission to perform this operation was denied.
srmxxx SRM Server cannot connect to SRM Server at 'srmyyy:9086/vcdr/vmomi/sdk'. Permission to perform this operation was denied.
srmyyy SRM Server cannot connect to VC Server at 'vcxxx:443/sdk'. Permission to perform this operation was denied.
srmyyy SRM Server cannot connect to SRM Server at 'srmxxx:9086/vcdr/vmomi/sdk'. Permission to perform this operation was denied.
We still have one External PSC ( that would be decommissioned soon) and all vCenters 6.7 with embedded PSC because we are during VMware Infra upgrading process.
I used domain administrator account namely administrator@vsphere,local on both sides. I could not find any additional information in SRM logs.
Reconfigure Site Pair operation was already done and it does not help. Change installed SRM from Windows 2012 R2 Control Panel is blocked due to UAC restriction that is imposed by GPO domain policy.
How can we explain that administrator@vsphere.local account can generate "Permission to perform this operation was denied" error?
Of course log on to the vCenter Appliance via mentioned administrator account is still successful.
What can be a nature of this kind of error? Should I suspect Firewall Settings issue or internal SRM problem?
Is it possible that External PSC that is currently not associated with any SRM server can be a disruptive source?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello,
Modifying SRM installer on both sites can actually help at times.
If you have UAC restriction you can go to registry settings on the both the servers and find the registry key "EnableLUA" . This would be set to 1. Modify the value to 0 and reboot the server post that. UAC restrictions should be lifited.
If this is not possible. Download the SRM installer on same server with the exact version. Right-Click run as administrator it will allow you to bypass UAC accordingly.

is SRM 5.5 still available for purchase or trial in lab for site failover test in preparation to upgrade to new VMWare version?
Only the latest versions of products are made available for evaluation.
Licensed customers should be able to download older versions though.

Thanks Scott for your prompt response.
We have licence to run SRM in production but we don't have it in the lab, we are trying to establish a lab to carry out testing to ensure the upgrade is successful before execute in production.
Will we still be able to download the older version for lab that we never had it setup?

Anh
If you have an active entitlement, you should be able to download those bits from your MyVMware account. If you cannot, you may need to open a licensing SR to get access.
Hi All,
Issue resolved, i install the VRA again with the same name and then unregister the VRA.
